General Language Information:
Murrinh-patha is spoken by over 2,500 people, in the region of Wadeye (formerly Port Keats) in the Northern Territory. It is one of Australia’s fastest growing Aboriginal languages spoken not only by Murrinh-patha people but also by several other people groups whose languages are waning or considered extinct in the area.
John 3:16 Yile neki-ka marda thathpirr manganpunart wurran ngala da matha kardu wurnangat warda ngatha da ngarra putek ngala kanhi. I da-ka nhini weyida wurdanngithuk ngay-yu da ngala kanhi-yu kardu-nu ngunarrapupnu-yu, ngay-yu wakal nugarn nukunu da matha. I kardu nangkal ngatha murrinh ngarra ngay da matha mangabathnu purru-ka, kardu nhini-ka mere kupup nukun, mu kardu-ka bere matha wangu birnu paninu da kangkarl wangu ngarra Yile ngay dim-yu.
